I just got a great deal on a TON of needles on ebay. All bamboo, straight from china. I expected them to be king of rough and not-so-great quality, but they were remarkably smooth. Some of the points were a little dull, but I would totally recommend them.
I also knitted this, just a burp bib in garter stitch. Peaches and cream 100% cotton on size 6 needles.
